Coin Finds from Uzbekistan

The project, in cooperation with the Uzbek Academy of Sciences, has set the goal of publishing coin finds from the area that is today Uzbekistan, in order to make accessible the rich numismatic heritage of this land.

An emphasis in this regard lies on the so-called Bukharkhudat drachmae. The first volume that has appeared so far presents two find complexes that are stored in the Regional Museum in Fergana. A second volume is in preparation, presenting the corresponding inventory of the museum in Tashkent. Also in preparation is a publication of the Hellenistic and Kushani coin finds from the excavation at Kampyrtepe, as well as a volume that will publish the various treasure-finds of Kushano-Sasanid copper coins; this coin type will also be analytically treated.
