Schubert-digital is a research platform dedicated to the life and work of Franz Schubert (1797–1828). Its main goal is to provide in-depth access to the handwritten and printed sources of his works, including autographs, copies, and prints. The platform provides detailed source descriptions that are linked to the digital copies available on Schubert-digital. Additionally, it features information on works, persons, institutions, with plans for a future watermark catalog.

The database employs the Metadata Editor and Repository for MEI Data (MerMEId) for data input and management, which is based on the XML vocabulary of the Music Encoding Initiative (MEI). Advanced search mechanisms and multiple access options are designed to facilitate tailored search queries and deliver reliable results. The application is based on the DSE Static Cookie Cutter framework developed at ACDH.
