The PMB is a web service for people, works, institutions, places and events specifically for the period in Vienna around 1900. The simplest function is to create a common database for various research projects. On the one hand, this makes it easier to refer to persons if they have already been created. On the other hand, it simplifies the search across several projects. References to other standard data records (GND, Wikidata, geoNames) allow automated matching. At present, the database mainly contains data on three of the most important writers of Viennese Modernism, Hermann Bahr, Arthur Schnitzler and Karl Kraus. In total, over 60,000 entities and over 78,000 relationships between individual entities have been created. A major advantage is the collection of Linked Open Data (LOD) URIs, which enable integration into the Semantic Web. Network analyses can be carried out easily via APIS Hub.
