As part of its mission to support and nurture digital humanities research, the ACDH-CH aims to provide a platform for academic discourse and networking and invests in the dissemination of knowledge and know-how both within the digital humanities community and beyond.
Besides the organization of larger stand-alone conferences, as well as training schools (summer and winter schools), the ACDH-CH curates and hosts the following established event series, the ACDH-CH Tool Galleries, the ACDH-CH Lectures and the ACDH-CH Research Days.
ACDH-CH Research Day
The ACDH-CH organizes a whole day of thematically linked presentations by ACDH-CH researchers involved in innovative projects.
Its aim is on the one hand to thematically bundle the research topics within the diverse research groups of the ACDH-CH and to make our research activities more visible.
ACDH-CH Tool Galleries
ACDH-CH Tool Galleries (formerly ACDH Tool Galleries) are workshops dedicated to providing information and hands-on training in the use of specific digital humanities tools. Led by experts with first hand experience in the application of these digital methods, the tool galleries are training activities open to everyone but directed, in particular, at humanities scholars who would like to learn about and engage with computer-based methods for implementation into their own research.
ACDH-CH Lectures
The ACDH-CH Lectures (formerly ACDH Lectures) invite international experts to Vienna and aim at fostering exchange and communication on a transnational level. In their talks, scholars from various areas of digital humanities reflect on the impact of digital methods in their chosen field of study and provide insights into exemplary research practice from around the world.
Training Schools
The ACDH-CH regularly offers summer or winter schools and similar education programmes: The activities are aimed at creating awareness for the potential and possibilities of digital humanities research to support the acquisition of digital competences and to transfer know-how regarding the use of digital resources, tools and methods.
