LaBaSi is an online cuneiform character list that helps to shed light on the diachronic development of the character forms of the Late Babylonian script and, through cumulative evidence, helps to identify standard forms of characters or peculiarities of individual scribes. Thanks to the possibility of multiple cross-references, the application helps for the first time to analyze the interrelationships between the various stages of development of the different signs. In this way, LaBaSi serves as a dynamic and flexible research tool for investigations in the field of Late Babylonian studies LaBaSi is the result of a collaboration between the research project “Diplomatics and Palaeography of Neo and Late Babylonian Archival Materials” (University of Vienna; funded by the FWF, project no.
