THE BLACKISH YAK

Description: Folk musician Ganbold Saindai, representative of Khoton ethnic group, performs a special cattle call song ʹʹThe Blackish Yakʹʹ. This song was also spread among other Oirat ethnic groups in Western Mongolia and used for calling yaks.

Description: Erkhembayar Khalkh recounts a story about long songs of the Myagad people and recollects his experience of learning long songs from his father and other relatives. Towards the end of the video, Erkhembayar and his brother Ganbat sing a short section of the long song ʹʹNarin saaral moriʹʹ (Thin grey horse).
