The Austrian Academy of Sciences’ Joint Excellence in Science and Humanities (JESH) programme promotes cooperation between early career researchers from abroad and scholars in Austria. JESH offers an incoming programme for researchers from 61 different target countries as well as an outgoing programme for Austrian researchers.
Scholarships funded within the framework of JESH aim to significantly reinforce the research landscape in the respective target country. International collaboration is crucial for the training and networking of researchers.
Early career researchers with a maximum of 10 years of research experience following completion of their doctorate/PhD who are affiliated with a university or non-university research institution in one of the target countries or Austria.
In Austria (JESH Incoming): institutes and departments at Austrian public higher education institutions, the Austrian Academy of Sciences and publicly funded research institutions.
In the target countries (JESH Outgoing): institutes and departments at public universities, the national academies of sciences and publicly funded research institutions.
