EXCELLENT JUNIOR GROUP @OEAW PROGRAMME

OeAW launches the Excellent Junior Group @OeAW Programme. The programme will promote young, promising Principal Investigators who submitted to the 2022 ERC-StG call for proposals and who were awarded an A-ranking (but no funding for budgetary reasons) by the European Commission.

DEADLINE

2 December 2022

APPLICATION

The call is open to researchers who

  1. applied to the ERC-StG 2022 call AND
  2. chose the OeAW as Host Institution AND
  3. were awarded an A-Ranking
  4. whose creative and independent thinking was evaluated in the Evaluation Summary Report as „OUTSTANDING“, „EXCELLENT“ or „VERY GOOD“.

The following documents shall be sent in SURNAME_PROJECTACRONYM_pdf format:

  1. Application form (Attachement 1)
  2. Proposal as submitted in the EU Funding & Tender Portal (Form A and Form B) in the ERC-2022-StG Call
  3. Evaluation Summary Report
  4. Support letter signed by the director of the selected OeAW Institute highlighting the a) ambitious novel concept and methodology and b) the expected significant payoffs beyond the field of research if the high risk/high gain research project is successful (Attachment 2).
  5. Motivation letter signed by the candidate (Attachment 3)

Applications referring to the EJG Call 2022 shall be sent to EJGapplications(at)oeaw.ac.at no later than 2 December 2022.

FUNDING

The call for applications aims at granting € 1.200.000,- for activities stated in the ERC StG application for the a maximum of 60 months. The funding covers exclusively direct costs as budgeted in the ERC proposal.

DURATION OF FUNDING

Funding will be available for max. 60 months as stipulated in the ERC StG application whereas an extension of a maximum of 12 months may be granted in well-founded exceptional cases only.

AWARD

The EJG@OeAW is awarded according to the EJG call programme.
