
… is a member of the ACDH's technical team. As a graduate of a technical college (HTL) for telecommunications engineering and of the Department
of Near Eastern Studies at the University of Vienna, he has a strong interest in both programming languages and natural languages, especially Arabic.
His fields of activity include software development, web development, server management, containerization, virtualization, Kubernetes clusters, and self-hosted AI. He has contributed to the development of several digital humanities publication projects. Currently, his primary projects are VICAV, SHAWI, WIBARAB, and TEI-Enricher. In addition, Omar Siam is responsible for the smooth operation of the institute's servers, Kubernetes infrastructure, and automated deployment processes, as well as for evaluating and operating self-hosted AI models. He is a member of the research unit DH Research & Infrastructure.
