Astrid Schweighofer is a research associate in the research unit History of the Habsburg Monarchy.
Studies of Protestant Theology and History/French (Teacher’s Certificate) at the University of Vienna. 2023 Venia Legendi for the field of Protestant Theologie/Church History, Habilitation thesis: „Im Streit für Christus – Nikolaus Gallus und die lutherische Konfessionsbildung“. 2013 PhD in Protestant Theology at the University of Vienna. 2018 „Förderungspreis der Stadt Wien“ in the humanities. From 2008 to 2012 and from 2014 to 2020 Prae-doc and Post-doc assistant at the Department of Church History, Christian Archaeology and Ecclesiastical Art at the Faculty of Protestant Theology of the University of Vienna. In October 2019 visiting scholar at the IEG Mainz. Several years of experience in journalism. Since December 2020 Elise Richter project manager (FWF) at the IHB of the ÖAW (50%), since March 2020 ph2-position at the University College for Teacher Education of Christian Churches (KPH) Vienna/Krems (50%).
President of the „Society for the History of Protestantism in Austria“ and member of the scientific advisory board of the „European Melanchthon Academy Bretten“.
