The ACDH-CH conducts and collaborates in a long list of original research projects in the field of digital humanities and acts as a partner in a number of local and international research infrastructures, competence networks, and consortia.

Furthermore the institute currently has six long-term projects in the field of cultural heritage in digital humanities: The Austrian Biographical Encyclopedia (ÖBL), the Austrian Encyclopedia of Music (oeml), the Viennese research group of the Complete Works of Johannes Brahms (Wiener Arbeitsstelle der Johannes Brahms Gesamtausgabe), Johann Joseph Fux, the Viennese research group of the New Schubert Edition (Wiener Arbeitsstelle der Neuen Schubert-Ausgabe), and the Dictionary of Bavarian Dialects in Austria (WBÖ).
