Arthur Schnitzler died on October 21, 1931. In the 20 months that followed his death, Clara Katharina Pollaczek, née Loeb, wrote her memoirs of how they met when they were young and, above all, of their time together from February 1923, during which she was his central partner. She compiled letters and diary entries and sometimes also other sources and occasionally added introductory texts. The typescript, intended for posthumous publication, comprises 990 pages typed by Schnitzler's secretary Frieda Pollak and remained unpublished for seventy years after her death on July 22, 1951. Until the present publication, it was known to researchers, but could only be consulted in her partial estate in the Vienna City Hall Library.

We present here a digital edition of the manuscript in a rough version, which has only been partially corrected. More detailed information can be found in the editorial principles.
