Kurzbiografie
Studium der Ur- und Frühgeschichte und Klassischen Archäologie an den Universitäten Wien, Athen und Berlin. 2005 Promotionsabschluss mit „Summa cum laude“ an der FU Berlin, im Anschluss Reisestipendiatin des Deutschen Archäologischen Instituts (2005/06). Auszeichnung mit dem FWF START Preis 2010 sowie einem ERC Starting Grant 2011. 2011–2012 Direktorin der Jungen Kurie der Österreichischen Akademie der Wissenschaften (ÖAW). 2013–2020 Direktorin des Instituts für Orientalische und Europäische Archäologie (OREA) an der ÖAW. Seit 2021 Wissenschaftliche Direktorin des Österreichischen Archäologischen Instituts an der ÖAW. 2015 Verleihung einer Honorarprofessur der Universität Tübingen im Fach Ur- und Frühgeschichte. Seit 2015 korrespondierendes Mitglied der philosophisch-historischen Klasse der ÖAW und seit 2016 korrespondierendes und seit 2020 ordentliches Mitglied des Deutschen Archäologischen Instituts (DAI). 2019–2021 Vorsitzende der Institutsdirektor/inn/enkonferenz der ÖAW. Editor-in-Chief der Zeitschrift Archaeologia Austriaca (ArchA) sowie Herausgeberin der Publikationsreihen Mitteilungen der Prähistorischen Kommission (MPK), Oriental and European Archaeology (OREA) und Perspectives on Balkan Archaeology (PeBA). Leiterin von interdisziplinären Ausgrabungen, Surveys und Materialstudien in der Türkei, in Griechenland, Iran, Vereinigte Arabische Emirate, Bulgarien und Serbien. 2022 Verleihung der Honorarprofessur der Universität Wien für das Fach Urgeschichte. Seit 2023 stellvertretende Leiterin der Human Evolution and Archaeological Sciences (HEAS).
