Academic Background


Katharina Prager did here Bachelor´s degree in „Environment and Bioresources Management“ at the University of Natural Resources and Life Sciences in Vienna, followed by a Master´s degree in “Cognition, Behavior and Neurobiology“ at the University of Vienna. She graduated in 2020 with her Master thesis on “Acoustic communication and social network in African Wild Dogs” and has since had the opportunity to gain further experience working as a research and field assistance for the Mammal Communication Lab and Urban Human. In November 2023 she joined the ARI as a PhD student in the Biology Cluster. 

Current Research


Katharinas research is focused on mammalian bioacoustics. She is mostly working with large mammals and is currently investigating the adaptive function of cheetah vocal signals. For this purpose, she is conduction observations and experiments both in local Zoos and in the field in South Africa.
