Academic background

Konrad Antonicek studied Egyptology at the University of Vienna. Since 2003, he works at the Acoustics Research Institute. He is the administrative head of the institute und leads the administration and organization group.

Current research

In his own academic discipline, his special scientific interest lies in ancient Egyptian music and religion. Another focus of his research is the reception of the ancient Egyptian culture in modern Europe; for a long time he was part of the executive committee of the Egypt and Austria society, an international composed assoziation of scientists belonging to various research disciplines, from egyptology to history.

Further, he teaches Egyptian hieroglyphics at the Wiener Volkshochschulen, an adult education institution in Vienna.
