About

Jaro Krieger-Lamina (né Sterbik-Lamina) holds a degree in information security management and is interested in the relation between surveillance, security and the protection of privacy.

Education

Born 1973 in Vienna, he finished a certificate course for photography at a Federal institute for Teaching and Research in Graphic Arts in Vienna in 1995. From 2005 to 2007 he studied information security management at the Danube University in Krems (MSc). His Master Thesis used tools and methods for commercial risk assessment to examine threats to privacy in Austria.

Experience

Since 1995 he has been working in the creative industries (photographer, graphics and web designer) and in different IT environments (senior systems administrator, systems designer and business continuity planning), ie as head of an IT department. Since 2007 he has been a research associate at the ITA working in various projects in the research area of privacy.

Other research interests are information security management, data protection, cyber security and the protection of critical infrastructures.
