After obtaining a BA in Jazz Vocals from Bruckner Conservatory in Linz/Upper Austria Denise studied at Goldsmiths College, University of London, where she received an MA in Arts Administration and Cultural Policy in 2002. While living in New York, she successfully completed extra-occupational Journalism classes at New York University (SCPS) in 2011.
Denise Riedlinger began her journalistic career as a music journalist, in 2003 she became part of the online editorial team of wienweb.at and the Wiener Kabeltext. She also wrote articles for the music magazine Jazzzeit, the Austrian daily newspaper Der Standard and ORF Online. From 2007-2012, she worked as a media consultant in New York City for the Austrian Foreign Ministry and the United Nations (UN WOMEN), and as a project manager at the New York Foreign Trade Commission of the Austrian Federal Economic Chamber. In 2013, she moved back to Vienna and began her work as the first Public Relations Officer at the Institute of Technology Assessment at the Austrian Academy of Sciences.
