Webshop of the ÖAW Press

The Austrian Academy of Sciences Press (ÖAW Press) lays great emphasis on the protection of your data and the defence of your privacy.

Here below, you are therefore informed about collection and use of your personal data when using the webshop.

Anonymous data collection

You may visit the webshop without providing any information about your identity. The ÖAW Press does not store any personal data in this connection. In order to improve the service, only statistical data are evaluated which do not allow for any conclusions about your identity. For statistics, the open source tool PIWIK is used which is made available by the Academy’s computer centre.

Processing of data

The ÖAW Press processes the following data:

• First name, last name, gender, address, contact data (email address, telephone number, fax number, address)
• Orders for books, articles and subscriptions as well as enquiries via the contact form

The data listed above are processed by the ÖAW Press solely for processing orders and answering enquiries.

Contract data processing

In fulfilment of contractual relations, data are forwarded inside ÖAW for commercial purposes and to our service provider partners for processing.

Deletion of data

The ÖAW Press deletes data on termination of the contract relation and at the expiry of all statutory retention obligations.

Cookies

The webshop uses so-called cookies. Cookies are text files which are deposited on the client computer and which the browser stores. They serve to make the service user friendlier, more efficient and more secure. Moreover, cookies make it possible for the webshop to recognise the browser and to offer corresponding services. Cookies do not contain any personal data.
