Internationale Tagung “Journalism Innovation in Democratic Societies”
Am 29. September diskutierten an der ÖAW 40 internationale Innovations-Expert:innen aus journalistischer Praxis und Kommunikationswissenschaft zu Innovationen im Journalismus und ihrer Bedeutung für demokratische Gesellschaften. Diese Tagung bildete den Abschluss des dreijährigen Forschungsprojekts “Journalism Innovation in Democratic Societies” (JoIn-DemoS), an dem mehr als 20 Wissenschafter:innen aus Deutschland, der Schweiz, Spanien, UK und Österreich teilnahmen.

The DIACOMET project has begun: Dialogue expands horizons
A new EU-funded project DIACOMET, involving ten European universities, media companies, non-governmental and research organizations, started with a kick-off meeting at Vytautas Magnus University (VMU) in Lithuania. The Institute for Comparative Media and Communication Studies (CMC) contributes to this project as one of the key partners. At the kick-off meeting, CMC was represented by team leader Tobias Eberwein as well as Krisztina Rozgonyi and Christina Krakovsky.

Verleihung VÖZ-FÖRDEPRREIS WISSENSCHAFT UND MEDIEN 2022
Der Verband Österreichischer Zeitungen (VÖZ) hat am 17. April 2023 den neu aufgestellten Förderpreis Wissenschaft und Medien 2022 verliehen: Der Förderpreis Medienforschung ging an Jana Egelhofer, mit dem Hannes Haas-Nachwuchspreis wurde Clara Peter geehrt. Tanja Traxler, Leiterin des Wissenschaftsressorts beim „Standard“, war die erste Preisträgerin in der neuen Kategorie, dem Preis für Wissenschaftsjournalismus. Juryvorsitzender war CMC-Direktor Matthias Karmasin.
