Andreas Schulz-Tomančok studied sociology, religious studies, social anthropology and communication in Leipzig, Bern, Vienna and Klagenfurt and has been a junior researcher at the CMC since 2022. In previous projects at the University of Vienna, he worked on anti-gender hate speech and on antisemitic and authoritarian attitudes as a researcher at the Viennese Institute for Labour Market and Education Research. He is an editor of the interdisciplinary Austrian journal SWS-Rundschau (since 2020) and a member of the Austrian Academy of Sciences' working group on non-discrimination (since 2023). His main areas of interest are political communication, intersectionality, hate speech and group-focused hostility in online contexts. At the University of Klagenfurt, he teaches quantitative methods and aspects of media change such as incivility and hateful communication.
