The antisemitic incidents at our universities deeply concern me and I condemn them in the strongest possible terms. It is unacceptable for Jewish students to feel unsafe at Austrian universities in the 21st century. This is reminiscent of the darkest chapters of our history, which we never want to experience again. There can be no tolerance from demonstrators supporting Palestinian causes towards Hamas terrorists and our society must not tolerate antisemitism. And we certainly cannot accept it when Jewish students are physically expelled from events. In Germany, education ministers have decided on an action plan against antisemitism. I implore that we, too, unite in raising our voices.
