Description:

The aim of the work is to develop the parameters of heat treatment of AISI 316L austenitic steel in order to reduce the level of residual stresses and prevent deviations in the geometry of the part manufactured by the SLM method.

In order to achieve this goal, it is necessary to systematically analyze the known ways of reducing internal stresses in parts produced by selective laser melting and by the traditional production method. It is also necessary to understand the characteristics of the primary (initial) structure formed during the hardening of austenitic steel depending on the production method. The effect of different production methods on the formation of microstructure and mechanical properties of steel, as well as the influence of heat treatment regimes on the level of internal stresses in parts made by different production techniques will also be studied.  Based on the above results, new heat treatment regimes for AISI 316L steel will be developed to reduce internal stresses in additively manufactured parts.
