Short Biography


Dr. Ádám Németh has been a postdoctoral researcher at the Institute for Urban and Regional Research of the Austrian Academy of Sciences since 2022. He completed his PhD at the University of Pécs, Hungary, in 2014, graduating with a summa cum laude distinction. He has published extensively in peer-reviewed journals and delivered more than thirty conference presentations across numerous countries. At his alma mater, he taught a range of seminars and courses in both Hungarian and English. He has served as principal investigator and thematic expert in several research projects, gaining extensive experience in both quantitative and qualitative research methods. He currently leads a Horizon Europe MSCA project at the University of Vienna. Dr Németh’s earlier research focused on international migration and the spatial patterns of ethno-cultural diversification, particularly in Central Europe and the Baltic region. More recently, his work has expanded to include the multidimensional concept of subjective well-being and its relationship with social cohesion.

Dr. Ádám Németh is also affiliated with the University of Vienna as part of “The Challenge for Urban Futures Research Platform.”
