Biography


Michael Kloiber is a student assistant at the Institute for Urban and Regional Research. After completing his Bachelor's degree in Geography at the University of Vienna, he began his Master's studies in Spatial Research and Spatial Planning. Additionally, he pursues a second major interest in History as part of his Bachelor's studies.

Since September 2022, he has been a tutor at the Institute for Geography and Regional Research at the University of Vienna, where he has been involved in various courses, ranging from Introduction to Human Geography to Empirical Methods and Urban Geography exercises. Since March 2023, he has been the student assistant as part of the Working Group for Spatial Research and Spatial Planning.

His focus lies particularly in Urban Geography, urban spatial planning issues, and peri-urban areas. He enjoys intertwining spatial planning with history. Currently, he is particularly engaged in exploring the potential implementation of the concept of the 15-Minute City in new urban development areas on the outskirts of the city.
