Isabelle Ratié erhielt 2014 einen Ruf als Professorin für Indologie an die Universität Paris 3, Sorbonne Nouvelle.

Study of Philosophy and Sanskrit in Paris; PhD (2009), Habilitation à Diriger des Recherches (2013).

Isabelle Ratié works on the history of Indian philosophy. She is particularly interested in understanding how the competition between various religious groups in Medieval India has led to the development of a rich philosophical field and how these religious currents were transformed by the relationship (of rivalry but also of mutual influence) that arose from this philosophical dialogue. She has authored monographs and essays that highlight this complex interaction in Śaiva and Buddhist works.

Isabelle Ratié worked at the Institute from February 2014 on the project “A Śaiva Interpretation of the Buddhist Theory of Exclusion” directed by Marion Rastelli. As a specialist of Śaiva philosophical literature she also collaborates on the international project “Tāntrikābhidhānakośa: a Hindu Tantric dictionary”.
