Horst Lasic studied Tibetan and Buddhist Studies as well as Indology at the University of Vienna, where he received his PhD in Tibetan and Buddhist Studies in 1999. He has been a research fellow at the Institute since 1995.
His research focuses on the philosophy of Buddhism in India and Tibet, with a particular emphasis on the logico-epistemological tradition. Most of his research is based on original texts that have been handed down in written form. Currently he is edting the fifth chapter of Jinendrabuddhi's Pramāṇasamuccayaṭīkā.
