    World record for quantum entanglement in optical fibers

    Once again, scientists at the Institute for Quantum Optics and Quantum Information Vienna of the Austrian Academy of Sciences (OeAW) have set a new world record in quantum entanglement: For the first time, entangled photons, i.e., light particles, have been sent over 248 kilometers of laid optical fiber.
