The Early Bronze Age cemetery in »Nižná Myšľa« is one of the largest and best-preserved sites of its kind in Europe. Over the course of approximately 50 years of archaeological excavations, nearly 800 burials have been identified. These provide a unique insight into the material culture and funeral rituals of the local community. However, what is most significant, in light of the current analytical capabilities of archaeology, is that the quantity and state of preservation of not only the grave goods but especially the skeletal remains offer entirely new information. With increasing precision, we can now discuss the chronology, the history of the local community burying their dead in »Nižná Myšľa« , as well as the social structure and kinship ties within this society.
