100,- EUR - Academy

300,- EUR – Industry

Since its start the Microsymposium has been a registration fee-free event and we have always hoped to maintain this. However, due to overall rising costs and increasing numbers of participants, in 2023 we had to change this and introduce a modest registration fee.

This symposium is about connecting the community and we want to make sure that everyone can attend. Therefore, we are also offering registration fee waivers and travel grants to financially support young scientists attending the Microsymposium.

Travel grants and registration fee waivers

In order to apply for a registration fee waiver, the applicant must be a young scientist of any nationality. The applicant must register under “WAIVER APPLICATION” and provide a short statement (150 words) explaining why they want to attend the meeting and what they expect to gain from it.

Travel funds are only awarded to PhD students or postdocs based on the quality of the abstract submitted. PhD students and postdocs chosen to present their work as a talk at the Microsymposium will receive a travel stipend of 300,- EUR [Europe] / 1000,- EUR [Worldwide].

The organizers will assess talk and waiver applications after the respective deadline. Participants will be notified as soon as possible if they are selected for a waiver and/or talk.

Abstract submission

We encourage all attendees to submit an abstract to present your work (in the form of a poster). PhD students and postdocs can apply for having their abstract selected for a talk. Abstracts (max. 2500 characters - Latin alphabet only) must be submitted during the registration.
