Studied History of Art at the University of Vienna, awarded doctorate in 1999. Member of various FWF-funded research projects on architecture and stained glass from 1995–2013. Member of the Austrian Academy of Sciences since 2002, served on the Austrian National Committee of Corpus Vitrearum Medii Aevi (CVMA) as scholarly secretary from 2005–2017 and as president since 2018. Since 2009, the CVMA’s work has been conducted at the OeAW, since 2015 within the framework of the project “Corpus Vitrearum – Medieval and Modern Stained Glass in Austria” as part of the OeAW’s New Frontiers Programme. Consultant to the Federal Monuments Office since 2003. Founded the company “Denkmalforscher” (Monument Researchers) as a bureau for architectural and art-historical research in 2013.
