Intramontane settings such as the Inn valley normally are not considered as areas of loess deposition, yet ongoing investigations progressively reveal the widespread presence of drapes of windblown sediments of different ages (Late Glacial, Holocene). Here we aim to perform pollen analyses on a loess layer dated to the late Bronze Age in order to uncover if human impact by extreme wood cutting/burning removed the vegetation to such an extent that post glacial loess sediment was redeposited.
