Christian Oggolder on ORCID

Christian Oggolder is a historian and communication scholar who has been working as a Senior Scientist at the CMC since 2013. As a member of the Research Group "Media Accountability & Media Change", his work focuses on media change, media history, and media literacy, exploring the intersections of historical media developments and contemporary digital transformations. As such, he was also part of the Austrian consortium team for the Horizon 2020 Project "Mediadelcom. Finding risks and opportunities for European media landscapes" (https://www.mediadelcom.eu).

Thus, his transdisciplinary approach investigates media change and the societal implementation of new media from a comparative perspective, both from a diachronic historical and a synchronic transnational angle.

His recent publication, together with Caroline Roth-Ebner from the University of Klagenfurt, deals with individual everyday experiences and (mediatized) living environments, generation-specific media usage patterns, and media pedagogical consequences (https://doi.org/10.5771/9783748914679).
