Spanish mission at Dra Abu el-Naga (Luxor)

The Spanish mission working at Dra Abu el-Naga (Luxor) discovered in February 2017 a small ritual garden/orchard at the entrance of a 12th Dynasty rock-cut tomb (ca. 2000 BC.). Only a few similar gardens were known (Mirgissa, Amarna), but none of them had been found in a funerary context. The presentation will focus on its significance and the archaeological context in which it was discovered, including material culture from the 11th to the early 18th Dynasty.
