Sandra Förster is a media and communication scholar working as a junior scientist at the CMC, where she has been part of the research group “Media Accountability & Media Change” since 2023. Her research focuses on organizational communication, media management and journalism. As part of a FWF project, she has investigated the various consequences of the COVID-19 pandemic on the media industry. Currently, she contributes to the Horizon Europe project DIACOMET, exploring dialogic communication ethics and accountability. As a PhD candidate at the University of Klagenfurt, her dissertation examines the dynamics, potential, and challenges of service journalism, especially in times of crises. Her research aims to demonstrate how alternative journalistic approaches could help to counter problem-centered narratives, mitigate news avoidance and bridge coverage gaps.
