Die Österreichische Akademie der Wissenschaften veranstaltet unter dem Titel „Ist die Welt aus den Fugen? Was auf dem Spiel steht“ eine Veranstaltungsreihe in der Steiermark und in Kärnten zu aktuellen Fragen an der Schnittstelle zwischen Gesellschaft und Wissenschaft. Im Rahmen dieser Initiative widmet sich ein Vortrag der Datenrechtsexpertin Christiane Wendehorst den ethischen und rechtlichen Herausforderungen von Digitalisierung und der wirtschaftlichen Verwertung von Daten.

Dankbar für die maßgebliche Unterstützung bei der Gründung unserer Forschungseinrichtung, verneigen wir uns mit hohem Respekt vor einem "mutigen Erneuerer und weitsichtigen Wegbereiter" (Präsident Anton Zeilinger). Mit Werner Welzig verliert die österreichische Wissenschaft einen ihrer bedeutendsten Förderer und Mahner.
