Biographical sketch

Degree in Classical Archaeology and Ancient History from the universities of Vienna and Graz. Then employed at the Department for Classical Archaeology at the University of Vienna and the Institute for the Study of Ancient Culture of the OeAW, since 2011, scientific employee at the OeAI. In addition to the participation at excavations in Austria and Italy also responsible for the fieldwork for a research project on imperial and late antique domestic space in Aswan (EGY). Since 2002, active in Turkey as part of various archaeological missions (Limyra, Andriake, Antioch in Pisidia, Dülük Baba Tepesi/Doliche) with the main emphasis on Ephesos. Since 2012, responsible for the research project »A late antique-medieval city quarter to the south of the Church of Mary«. Since 2013, coordinator of the excavations in Ephesos. From 2017 to 2020 in charge of the RG »Digging Digital«. Since 2021, together with Christian Gugl, coordinator of the research infrastructure unit »Digital Archaeology and Classics (DAC)«.
