Biographical sketch
Studied Egyptology, Classical Archaeology and Pre- and Early History at the Johannes Gutenberg University Mainz; 1994-2001 participation in various excavations in Germany; 2002-2009 deputy excavation director of the Roemer-Pelizaeus-Museum Hildesheim project in Qantir-Piramesse; since 1998 participation in various excavations in Egypt (Abydos, Amheida/Trimithis, Asyut, Berenike, Tell el-Dab'a, Tuna el-Gebel,); 2016-2021 research associate and coordinator of the ERC Advanced Grant "The Enigma of the Hyksos"; 2021-2023 project leader of the ÖNB project "Complex Stratigraphies. A Complex Near Eastern Stratigraphy at Tell el-Daba (Area A/II)"; since 2023 research associate at the FWF project "Palace Architecture in Egypt and its Spatial Semiotics. Hyksos and Egyptian palaces in Avaris/Tell el-Dab'a"
