Biographical sketch

Degrees in Classical Archaeology and Ancient History from the University of Vienna. Since 1999, annual participation at the excavations in Ephesos. Since 2001, scientific employee at the OeAI Vienna and responsible for several externally funded projects. 2012 habilitation at the Faculty of Historical and Cultural Studies of the University of Vienna (venia docendi for Classical Archaeology). Since 2015, assistant director of the excavations in Ephesos. Since September 2023 Head Dpt. of Historical Archaeology. Since 2024 chairman of ÖAW Turkey and director of the excavations in Ephesos.
