Biographical sketch

Studied Egyptology and Classical Archaeology at the University of Vienna, Master's degree 2005, PhD 2010. Collaborator in the Special Research Area SCIEM 2000 at the Austrian Academy of Sciences from 2006 to 2009, collaborator at the Orient Department of the German Archaeological Institute in Amman (Jordan) and Berlin from 2009 to 2013, postdoctoral researcher at the Oriental Institute of the University of Chicago from 2013 to 2015, APART fellow at the Austrian Academy of Sciences from 2015 to 2017. START Prize of the Austrian Science Fund (FWF) 2016 for the project "Tracing Transformations in the southern Levant from collapse to consolidation in the mid-second millennium BC". Research stays at the Cotsen Institute of Archaeology at the University of California, Los Angeles, at the Hebrew University of Jerusalem, the Albright Institute of Archaeological Research in Jerusalem. Lecturer at the Institute of Egyptology, the Institute of Old Testament Studies and Biblical Archaeology and the Institute of Oriental Studies at the University of Vienna. Member of the editorial board of the journal Bulletin of the American Schools of Oriental Research and co-editor of the series Archaeology of Egypt, Sudan and the Levant. Since 2017 excavation director Tel Lachish, Israel (together with Katharina Streit).
