Biographical sketch

Federica Iannone studied at the University of Salerno, where she obtained a BA in Cultural Heritage Sciences and an MA in Archaeology and Ancient Cultures. She later completed the School of Specialization in Archaeology at the Italian Archaeological School at Athens. From 2012 to 2018, she has been involved in the Phaistos Project of the Italian School at Athens and the University of Salerno, focusing on the fortifications on the hill of Christos Effendi. From 2018 to 2022, she served as research assistant in the FWF project The Fortifications of Aigeira at the Athens branch of the Austrian Archaeological Institute (ÖAI). Since 2021, she has been a PhD candidate at the University “L’Orientale” of Naples, researching sacred landscapes in the Peloponnese. She currently works as a research assistant in the project The Poseidon Sanctuary at Samikon and serves as field director of the excavations at Kleidi-Samikon (ÖAI)
