Biographie

Ilona Chmilevskia holds a Pre-doctoral position at the Institute of Iranian Studies, Austrian Academy of Sciences. She is currently working on her dissertation on the transformation of Islamic juridical system in the East Caucasus under Russian imperial rule, at both the Institute and the University of Vienna. Her research is supported by the Excellence Cluster "EurAsian Transformations."

She holds a BA in Oriental Studies and an MA in History from HSE University.
