Biographie
András Barati earned his PhD in Iranian Studies from Eötvös Loránd University in Budapest in 2021 with a dissertation on early modern Persian royal decrees preserved in the archives of the Āstān-i Quds-i Rażawī in Mashhad. In 2023, he joined the project Entangled Charters of Anatolia (1200–1300, ENCHANT) at the Institute for Medieval Research of the Austrian Academy of Sciences. His research centres on Persian diplomatics, chancery practices, and the administrative history of the medieval and early modern Persianate world, with a particular interest in how documents, from royal decrees to inshāʾ manuals, functioned as agents of governance and communication.
