Photodynamics of thin films: Access to thermal and structural properties PD Dr. Anton Plech
Structural transformations and thermal behaviour in confined geometry are important aspects of functional materials. Access can be gained by time-resolved studies. The presentation will discuss examples of pump-probe studies on thin films and materials with sub-nanosecond time resolution utilizing X-ray pulses from synchrotrons as probe. Thus elastic and plastic relaxations of the material can be resolved and transient states of matter identified.
