oeai.COIN

oeai.COIN is a web application that offers a structured and comprehensive platform for the collection, analysis, and dissemination of coin data. Originally conceived as an online platform for Roman coins from Austria, the database has been completely renovated to promote numismatic research and to provide precise and reliable information about coins from different historical periods and geographical regions in a new modern format.

Online Platform for Numismatic Objects

The database originally existed as dFMRÖ, the digitized version of the »Fundmünzen der Römischen Zeit in Österreich« project. A decision was made to modernize the database, with a new data model that incorporated FAIR data standards and allowed for the inclusion of a wider variety of numismatic collections and data.

oeai.COIN offers features such as an updated data model that uses the NUDS (Numismatic Data Standard) data schema, downloadable content in open formats, and a controlled vocabulary with links to established authority databases (such as NOMISMA). These features will be used to ensure consistent, standardized, and easily accessible numismatic data.
