Biographical sketch

Degrees in Classical Archaeology, Ancient History, and Classical Studies from the University of Graz. Since 2008, lecturer at the universities of Graz, Innsbruck, and Vienna. Since 2010, scientific employee at the OeAI. 2015 habilitation at the University of Innsbruck and awarded venia docendi for the subject »Archaeology of the Roman Provinces« as well as recipient of the Erna-Diez-Research Award. From 2017 to 2020 head of the research group »Everyday Life, Trade and Crafts« at the OeAI.

Research interests and scientific focus is on the scientific analysis of material remains of the Roman period, particularly their interpretation regarding historical and cultural-historical issues. Special areas of interests consist of the contextual analysis of Roman period small finds as well as the engagement with the associated scholarly methods.
