Biographical sketch
Studied Protestant Theology as well as Classical Archaeology and Ancient History in Vienna and Zurich, doctorate (Classical Archaeology 1993), habilitation (2009); research associate at the Balkan Commission of the ÖAW (1989-1997); since 1997 research associate and since 2009 director of the Institute for the Cultural History of Antiquity (until 2020); corr. member of the ÖAW (2011), acting member (2013); visiting professorships in Graz (2012, 2018); since 2021 scientific director of the ÖAI and head of the Department of Classical Studies. Executive Director OeAI since 08. 2023 (interim until 03. 2024).
