Abstract:

In this talk I will cover several aspects of exoplanetary research in which the IAC group in Spain is involved. This includes on-going efforts to perform transmission spectroscopy of giant hot exoplanets using the 10.4 m GTC, which allows to measure the size of the exoplanet as a function of wavelength as a step to retrieve the main atmospheric features; detection and confirmation of eclipsing binaries members of young clusters to test stellar formation models (an accurate size of the star is needed to measure an accurate size of the planet), and an on-going search for transiting material around white dwarfs.
