Space Sciences and Earth from Space

The master study program in Space Sciences and Earth from Space, offered by NAWI Graz since 2011, provides students with a technology/science oriented training in space sciences as well as application oriented modules in

  • Solar System Physics
  • Satellite Systems, and
  • Earth System from Space.

The study programme is based on research driven teaching. Further benefits are the result of combining specific competences not only from the University of Graz and the Graz University of Technology, but also from the Space Research Institute of the Austrian Academy of Science and Joanneum Research.

Graz in Space

Graz in Space (GiS) is a biennial lecture series in which scientists from Graz present their space-related research to a wide audience. GiS was launched in 2002 in cooperation with the Institute of Physics at the University of Graz and the Commission for Astronomy of the Austrian Academy of Sciences under the direction of Helmut O. Rucker.

Since 2023, Graz in Space has been held at the IWF under the scientific direction of Christiane Helling.
