Topic and abstracts:
The topic of the meeting is broad and covers all aspects of the effects of micromechanisms on fatigue and fracture. Experimental and computational studies are welcome. Reports of current investigations also can be presented.
Please send a short abstract (maximum one page) to Prof. Kolednik,otmar.kolednik@oeaw.ac.at, and in copy to Doris Schrutt, viktoria.schrutt@oeaw.ac.at.
All contributions will be presented as oral; there will be no parallel sessions. The time allocated for each presentation will be fixed after the whole program of the meeting is known.
Deadlines:
30th November, 2014: Abstract submission
15th December, 2014: Notification of abstract acceptance
Registration fee:
The registration fee will be € 200,-.
This includes the lunches on Monday and Tuesday, the conference dinner on Monday evening, and the beverages during the meeting.
Participants will be asked to transfer the registration fee to the Austrian Academy of Sciences, 1010 Vienna.

Financial assistance:
Funding is available from ESIS TC2 to support the active participation of scientists who would be otherwise not able to attend this meeting. Financial assistance is limited to presenting authors. Support will be, in general, provided by waiving the conference fee, but
additional support might be possible. Preference will be given to candidates from countries with low GDP and young scientists.
Applications for financial assistance should be sent to Prof. Kolednik,otmar.kolednik@oeaw.ac.at, until 30th November, 2014. These applications should contain:
- CV
- Signed declaration of citizenship and current affiliation
- Abstract of presentation at TC2 meeting
- Reason why support is necessary
The selection of the candidates will be made by Prof. Pokluda, Prof. Marrow and Prof. Kolednik. The decision will be announced until January 15, 2015.

We will announce in a later mail, how to get special rates, if possible. Early booking of the rooms is recommended.
Special issue:
During the meeting, we will discuss the possible preparation of a special issue in Engineering Fracture Mechanics or International Journal of Fatigue.
