More and more tenants have to cope with rising housing and living costs (including rent, utilities and energy costs) because incomes are not rising at the same rate. Particularly in urban areas, these current trends are challenging the affordability of housing and living for many people. This puts tenants under enormous pressure. Moreover, the few affordable housing options often limit the alternatives available to tenants. As a result, these economic developments are not only a financial burden, but have a far-reaching impact on the entire lives of tenants.
At a time when affordable housing is becoming a key social challenge, we invite you to contribute your perspective.
The main objective of the project "Affordable Housing and Living in Vienna under Pressure?" is to document the far-reaching consequences of rising housing and living costs for tenants in Vienna. The project focuses on the experiences of people living in the free rental market segment. Based on this, we want to derive policy recommendations.
